Indexing Your Coupons - Never Clip a Coupon Before Its Time

Forty-four times a year you will find two, three or four inserts in your paper full of great coupons! They come out every Sunday except holidays. (And sometimes a special insert on a holiday - so you have to stay awake.) In the Utah area you have SmartSource (S), Valassis (V), Proctor and Gamble (PG) and Smiths (Sm). These abbreviations are used in the Coupon Index and Price List.

Each Sunday locate the inserts and write the date in large letters across the front with the black marker. Number the odd numbered pages (3,5,7,etc). You will appreciate the numbers when you are looking for the coupon. Place the insert in the folder with the date clearly written on the tab and place it back in the file drawer or box. There's no need to punch holes, cut coupons or keep a bulky binder. Just file the inserts away and wait for the appointed time when you will clip a coupon to match up with a sale item. Or in the event you want to buy a non-sale item you can use the Coupon Index to locate a coupon in just seconds. Most coupons are good for approximately 90 days - some longer. We suggest you keep the inserts on file for approximately 6 months.
