Step Seven Clipping Coupons - Now's the
Time
Coupons do not need to
be clipped before you are ready to go shopping. Clipping
them to soon makes them difficult to track and locate.
In the very right hand
column is the location code of the coupons. For each item you
have highlighted and that has a coupon you will now be able to
easily locate the coupon by using the code to locate the
coupon in your library.
Note:This is a great
activity to assign to one of your children who would like to
earn a few extra dollars and learn the thriftiness principles
involved. The codes are quite easy. They are
made up in the following manner.
V9/16-4 UT
V is for
Valassis 9/16 is for September
16 4 is for page
4 UT is for the Utah papers
outside of Salt Lake
(Every Market Area will have one
or more Newspaper Groups that are selected when you set up
your preferences.)
You simply would now
go to the folder labeled 9/16 (September 16) pull out the
Valassis insert, turn to page 4 and clip the
coupon.
Have you ever clipped
your coupons and forgot to use them at the store? Here is how
you avoid such a costly mistake. Place the coupons you have
just clipped in the Trading Card Sheet in the first folder.
This allows you to easily see the coupons you have clipped and
avoid leaving the store without redeeming your coupons. When
you are ready to go shopping take the Trading Card sheets with
you. As you shop take the coupons out of their pocket and
place all of the coupons to be redeemed in the upper right
pocket of the first sheet. You may want to put the sheets in a
school folder that has some clips to hold the sheets
together. |
